Healing ginger tea

This is something I either add to my tea or make as tea during the cold winter months, especially if I happen to catch a cold! It’s very soothing to the throat and stomach. Each ingredient is  healing so together they create a powerful tonic.

The coconut oil helps absorption as well as coats the throat. Both ginger and coconut oil are anti-parasitic, anti inflammatory and antibacterial.   I get my ingredients at the farmers market or a health food store. I use powdered tumeric that comes in bulk, so I jar and label it myself which is cost effective.

The ginger is fresh from the farmers market as well as the honey and is full of healing properties.  I find them to be more local and better priced when I can find it there. I store the ginger in a plastic bag in the refrigerator with a small piece of paper towel wrapped around part of the body to prevent molding. It lasts at least a month this way and I just cut pieces off and use it (as in picture).

Sometimes I also like to add cinnamon to make it taste different, that’s just my personal preference but cinnamon also has many healing properties and health benefits and becomes a tonic when added to honey. Try the amounts you like and learn to make your own favorite blend!

  • Coconut oil
  • (Optional cinnamon and coconut milk)
