8 of our favorite fermented foods

Fermentation has been used for 100s, if not 1000s of years, to create foods that are rich in enzymes to help us process our food, nutrients, and vitamins. including zinc and the vitamin B complex. Fermentation  is a process that creates many natural probiotics including acidophilus and lactobacillus. A healthy gut has these bacteria living inside fighting off other bacteria and excreting vitamins and nutrients in the process.

Here are 7 of my favorite fermented foods

  1. Sauerkraut – fermented cabbage
  2. Pickles – fermented cucumbers
  3. Sourdough bread – fermented bread
  4. Kombucha – fermented tea
  5. Tempeh – fermented soybeans
  6. Miso – fermented paste used in miso soup
  7. Coconut kefir – fermented coconut water
  8. Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar

We encourage to eat them regularly. When eating any new food, start with small amounts per serving and increase portion size gradually, little by little, over an extended period of time
